Developing Standards
In addition to its experimental activities L.I.E.R. has been for many years, and continues to be, an active participant in the development and revision of the EN1317 European standard, on both national and international levels.
This standard, which serves as a basis for the CE marking of road safety systems, has been developed within the framework of Directive no. 89/106/CEE regarding Construction Products.
L.I.E.R.'s participation, as a laboratory respected by the European normative authorities, consists of lending its expertise and technical know-how to the various working groups active under CEN/TC226, Technical Committee 226 (Road Equipment) of the European Standardisation Committee.
