LIER

L.I.E.R. is a private sector company and a subsidiary of INRETS, the French national transport and
safety research institute. L.I.E.R. was created in 1993 in order to provide industry with the necessary means to facilitate the development of and evaluate road safety systems. The objective for manufacturers being to obtain the certification or CE marking of their systems.

L.I.E.R. is a quality accredited laboratory. The services that it offers are oriented around the evaluation of road furniture.

The laboratory has two complementary methods at its disposal: experimental crash tests and computer modelling. There is a real synergy between these two approaches both of which can be offered to clients either separately or complementarily.
